Tesla awarded as the safest car in the world from NHTSA

When you purchase a Model S, you’re not just buying a vehicle committed to performance, design and social responsibility. You’re also buying, quite simply, the safest car in the world. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) gave Model S its highest five-star rating in every category, something less than 1% of vehicles achieve, and here are just a few of the reasons why:

Model S recorded the lowest probability of injury of any passenger car ever tested by the U.S. government. It leverages a large front crumple zone (made possible by the complete absence of an engine block) and reinforced undercarriage to absorb frontal and side impacts.
We’ve gone above and beyond industry norms to make automatic emergency braking, blind spot and forward- and side-collision warning systems standard in all Tesla cars.
At Tesla, the safety of you and your loved ones is of paramount importance to us. Model S was designed to protect it.
