(15.05.2019) At the 72nd Cannes Film Festival not only famous actors have their appearance, but also the electric cars from Renault
From May 14th to 25th, 2019, the 72nd Cannes Film Festival will take place. Renault is also this year official automotive partner of the event and provides nearly 300 vehicles for the shuttle service. The elegant arrival of the stars, jury members and guests on the red carpet of the Festival Palace will be ensured this year by the models Renault Espace Initiale Paris and Renault Talisman. The team is rounded off by a purely electric fleet consisting of the Renault models ZOE and Twizy, which are used along the famous "Promenade de la Croisette".
Renault is the 36th consecutive year official automotive partner of the famous film festival on the Côte d'Azur. In 1983 Renault drove for the first time the prominent guests of the festival to film screenings, interviews and up to the red carpet on the Croisette. This year, 200 Renault Espace Initiale Paris and 60 Talisman limousines will be taking over the exclusive shuttle service for stars, directors, jury members, sponsors and other guests. During the ten days of the festival, the Renault fleet will make more than 20,000 trips. All models carry the famous golden palm of Cannes as an official signature on the flank.
Electric car manufacturer Renault has been supporting film festivals for a long time
The film festival also features the latest film by renowned filmmaker Claude Lelouch, "Les plus belles années d'une vie",
This year's Film Festival will be chaired by Oscar-winning Mexican director Alejandro González Iñarritu, in which the Alpine A110 has played a small role.
The origin of the close connection between Renault and the film art dates back to the year 1898, in which the brothers Auguste and Louis Jean Lumière opened the first film studios near the production of Renault in Billancourt near Paris. In addition to the Cannes Film Festival, Renault has since then repeatedly supported prestigious film festivals, for example in Lyon, Deauville and Alpe d'Huez. Each year, Renault also provides 40 vehicles for about 200 film and television productions.
