(08.06.2019) The purchase bonus for the purchase of electric cars and other electric vehicles called the environmental bonus is to be extended until the end of 2020, but the amount will not be increased.
In mid-2016, the environmental bonus for the purchase of fuel cell, plug-in hybrid and electric cars was introduced. It has now been announced that the premium will be granted until the end of 2020.
Originally there should be funding of up to 4,000 euros only until the end of 2019.
It will continue to promote only vehicles that cost up to 60,000 euros. The amount of the environmental bonus remains at up to 4,000 euros, half pay the federal government and the other half to pay the participating automakers.
The amount of the environmental bonus for electric cars and other electric vehicles will not be increased
Recently, there was also a demand that the premium per vehicle should be increased. Unlike in the past, the installation of acoustic warning systems (Acoustic Vehicle Alerting Systems) will now be subsidized with 100 euros. From 1 July, new battery and hybrid electric vehicles within the European Union (EU) will need to have artificial driving noise when driving below a certain speed.
Peter Altmaier (Federal Minister of Economics, CDU) said to the world:
"We will extend the environmental bonus for electric cars by the end of 2020, because we need continuity in support. The environmental bonus has proven itself in practice. The number of applications is steadily increasing, slower than we had hoped, but it is all the more important to ensure continuity of support. "
Since the Federal Government wants to significantly reduce CO2 emissions, as many adjusting screws as possible have to be moved. In other countries, the incentives to move to a scooter are much higher, so there are high tax benefits, more
The funding pot for electromobility is still well filled
The funding pot was filled at the beginning with 1.2 billion euros, so far were retrieved to the 400 million euros. So far, 118,000 applications have been received for the promotion of an electric vehicle.
The number of applications has increased each year, in 2017 there were almost 38,000. There were 44,600 applications in 2018, and as of 21 May, 26,453 applications have already been received by BAFA.
