BMW hopes for many points at the E-Prix Paris

#MechCrunch

Two weeks after the race in Rome, the Formula E with Paris takes the next European metropolis under the wheels. For the fourth time in 2019, the French capital will host an E-Prix and will be the stage for another strong performance for the BMW i Andretti team. Félix António da Costa is just two points behind the drivers' championship standings after the seven races of the season so far and still has every chance of winning the title.

In the Paris E-Prix qualifying plays a particularly important role, because the 1.92-kilometer short track offers many curves only a short start-finish straight. Accordingly, overtaking is difficult, especially since the track surface is very wavy and makes every leaving the ideal line particularly risky. As in Rome, the first qualifying group with the top drivers will have the dirtiest and therefore most difficult conditions and can barely get a top spot for the start.

On the short straight in Paris, support via fanboost could make all the difference. There are three easy ways to do this: On the official website of Formula E, via the official Formula E App or on Twitter with the hashtag #FANBOOST and the name of the driver, ie #AntonioFelixDaCosta or #AlexanderSims.

Roger Griffiths (Team Principal BMW i Andretti Motorsport): "Paris is already a fixture in the racing calendar of Formula E. We are here for the fourth time and know the course accordingly well. The track is narrow and curvy and has only a short straight. This usually means that overtaking is particularly difficult. The importance of a good starting position is correspondingly high. Our focus is on finding the optimum grip on the slippery track and thereby achieving our goal of scoring points in both cars. "

Alexander Sims (# 27 BMW iFE.18): "The track in Paris has some unique turns. The track is relatively short and very wavy. I gained some initial experience in the simulator and I'm curious how it will feel on the real track. We carefully analyzed the race in Rome and hopefully made the right conclusions. "

António Félix da Costa (# 28 BMW iFE.18): "After being somewhat frustrated with the result in Rome, I am back in Paris with great motivation. I feel very comfortable in the BMW iFE.18 and have very good memories of the track. Last year I made the jump to the Superpole there. Now I hope it works just fine this time. "
