Which Cruise Line Has The Best Food?
Top Best Cruise line For Food
Everyone goes on vacation for a variety of reasons. Some people live to see the natural wonders of the world and to explore the vast outdoors. Others spend hours looking over art and relics in some of the world’s most prominent institutions.
Then there are individuals that want to live a good time, traveling from city to city to participate in worldwide events seldom seen at home. Some people are foodies and they want the best food everywhere.
Food on board a ship can make or break a cruise, as experienced cruisers know. However, with so many cruises claiming to have the best meals, how are you expected to know which ones actually do?
I have evaluated each cruise line’s food based on a variety of factors. This list should assist you in narrowing down your choices and selecting the cruise that offers the greatest food for both your palette and your budget.
Cruise Lines With The Best Food
Nickelodeon Cruise
To start the day, the Nickelodeon Cruise had a pajama breakfast with your favorite character. Another notable activity is Nick Live. The kids will enjoy the concert, as well as the poolside entertainment and special slime. However, after many years of excellent business and family enjoyment, the Nickelodeon cruise ship came to an end.
Nickelodeon Cruise Review
I went on that cruise a week ago, it was pretty good. Great waterslides to try, good food, and the skipper was Swedish, exactly like us, so we got a free tour up at the spot where they drive the boat (don’t know the English word for it) and my younger brother got to sound the horn.
Seabourn Cruises
If you’re ready to spend a little extra on your cruise holiday, Seabourn is a good option. The brand is known for transporting passengers to the pinnacle of luxury. Of course, this luxury extends to the menus served to passengers onboard.
Thomas Keller, the chef, and restaurateur behind New York’s Per Se and Napa’s French Laundry have teamed with the company. By the end of 2018, cruise ships will be equipped with restaurants that are as fancy and unforgettable as the latter.
Keller has designed a new restaurant for Seabourn called The Grill, which is sure to be as notable as his previous restaurants.
Seabourn Cruises transports guests all over the world to places where you can expect to eat well. From Rio de Janeiro to Dubai to Amsterdam, foodies will be able to experience exceptional cuisine both on and off the ship.
Silversea Cruises
Silversea Cruises is one of the top cruise lines for food, with an industry-leading six fine dining restaurants onboard the 540-passenger Silver Spirit. Passengers will also be disappointed by the lack of variety, as each restaurant caters to various themes and tastes.
Beautiful six-course dinners, superb wine pairings, and a refined setting can all be found at Le Champagne. Carnivores won’t want to miss the Grill, an al fresco eating experience with pork chops, prime ribeye, and the opportunity to participate in the cooking process.
Stars are the place to go if you want Gatsby-style sophistication, tiny meals, and polished conversation. Seishin is a Japanese restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. La Terrazza is a restaurant that specializes in Slow Food.
Of course, Silversea’s sophisticated take on room service, which includes butler-served course-by-course in-suite dinners, is an option.
Disney Cruise Line
The perfect family cruise line provides larger-than-life entertainment as well as special access to your favorite Disney characters, including Star Wars and Marvel superheroes. From over-the-top main dining room spectacles to more sophisticated references to Disney characters in the grown-up dining venues and bars, Disney cruises excel at providing pitch-perfect family-friendly entertainment in all elements of the cruise experience. For foodies, Disney shines in the sophisticated cuisines presented at Remy, Disney Cruises’ Ratatouille-inspired French specialty restaurant. Remy offers seven-course meals with wine pairings, as well as some of the best seafood dishes on the sea. Palo, the line’s Italian specialty restaurant, is well worth a mention for its outstanding lobster ravioli. Both restaurants have additional costs, so budget appropriately.
Norwegian Cruise Line
Norwegian’s emphasis on “freestyle cruising” is seen in the line’s eating philosophy. The prescribed meal times and dress requirements that made cruising so stuffy were replaced by a veritable smorgasbord of complementary and specialty eateries onboard by NCL.
Geoffrey Zakarian’s upmarket seafood restaurant Ocean Blue serves some of the greatest food on the cruise, however, native foodies may prefer Jimmy Buffett’s unflappably cool Margaritaville at Sea. Zakarian isn’t the first chef to collaborate with NCL; if you’re wanting modern Mexican cuisine, Iron Chef Jose Garces’ concoctions are sure to please.
Bayamo serves excellent Cuban cuisine, while Pincho Tapas Bar serves more continental fare. While Norwegian’s laid-back cruise style is a terrific way to unwind and be spontaneous, genuine foodies should buckle down and make reservations for the line’s specialty restaurants to get the whole experience.
For surf and turf, we recommend Ocean Blue and Cagney’s Steakhouse, respectively.
